STEM Week Summer 2023
The theme of this STEM week was Women in Science.
Reception and KS1 looked at the work of Patricia Bath who was an opthalmologist and inventor. Throught the week, children made glasses with coloured lenses, glider catapults and a toy animal float.
Year 3 and 4 looked at the work of Hertha Ayrton, an engineer and inventor. They made cotteon reel racers, paper animals that walked downhill and lots of differnt types of parachutes.
Years 5 and 6 looked at the work of Annie Easley and Janette McCalla, engineers and robotic experts. They made gliders, intricate robotic hands, elastic birds and simple peg automata.
