Languages - French
We know the importance of developing more than one language as a way to develop communication skills, confidence and to open doors to travel and opportunity.
We teach French in Key Stage 2.
At St James, we aim to develop:
- Oral language - Speaking and listening skills and Accurate Pronunciation
- Breadth of vocabulary
- Conversational skills
- Simple written language
We teach French through:
- Rising Stars scheme of work - this follows the National Curriculum
- Use of dual language books
