Message From The Head
Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn term.
With the clocks changing and the weather getting colder we are looking forward to some of our favourite events. Towards the start of November we will be selling poppies on behalf of the Royal British Legion and once again we are taking part in the Samaritan’s Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Appeal. Our newly elected School Council have chosen to take part in the Save The Children Christmas jumper appeal and we will be celebrating that on Friday 13th December.
We also have a number of exciting trips for our classes. Year 2 have visited the Museum of London to take part in the Hand of the Beast workshop and later in the term, they will be going to the National Gallery to be involved in the Take One Picture project. Year 5 have visited Millfield theatre to watch an amazing production of Macbeth by the Young Shakespeare Company following their workshop on the play earlier this term and Year 6 are visiting the Houses of Parliament.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 5 will be taking part in drama and wellbeing workshops later in the term. And we are delighted to welcome the Royal Albert Hall who will be delivering a special assembly to our KS2 children. Finally our Year 4 classes are visiting the Tate Gallery to see their class picture displayed as part of the exhibition they took part in last year when they were Years 3s.
As always, the Friends are as busy as organising the Christmas fair at St James church on Saturday 23rd November and we look forward to seeing everyone there.
And finally towards the end of term, we have the build up to Christmas and all the wonderful excitement that that entails with all our classes visiting the Christmas Experience at St James Church. Our KS1 children will be taking part in our wonderful Nativity and we will be celebrating with our Christmas assembly on Tuesday 17th December at St James Church and parents are very welcome to join us there.
Remember to look out for our Friday newsletter to keep up to date with all the events we have at school or feel free to email or pop into the School Office with any questions you may have..
