St James C of E Primary School

Welcome to our school website which I hope you will find both informative and a reflection of what is happening here at St. James School. We are a church school and our Christian values underpin a lot of our work and aspirations both for the children and the whole school community.

On Friday 22nd June, you can wear your PJs to school and bring in a bottle.

Message from the Head

Welcome to St James Primary School and the second half of the Summer term.

As usual, it is another busy one for us.  In our first week after half term, Reception class are visiting the Butterfly house at Golders Hill Park, our Year 4s are visiting Muswell Hill Synagogue and our Year 5s are going to Neasden Temple.  Later in the term, our Year 1s are also going to spend the day at Railway Fields looking at local habitats and pond dipping and our Year 5s are visiting the Hackney Empire to hear a concert by Apollo Music.  Towards the end of June our Year 5 and Year 6s are taking part in an inter school BAFTA workshop day run by Alexandra Palace and our Year 3s are visiting the London Aquarium.

Later in the term, we are very excited about welcoming our new Reception class to St James for afternoon tea.  They will have a chance to meet their teacher, see their new classroom and get to know their new classmates.

And this is a very special and exciting time for our Year 6s.  They  worked extremely hard on their SATs and are now spending time attending inductions at their new secondary schools.   On top of this they are busy rehearsing for their Year 6 leavers production of Shakespeare Rocks and will be visiting the Globe theatre in July.    We also look forward to our very special leavers service at St James Church on Tuesday 17th July which the whole school attends and all parents are very welcome to join us.

Towards the end of term we have our annual Sports Day in Highgate Woods and a number of music concerts planned.

So you can see that we have  much to enjoy and learn from this term.  A quick reminder that our last day is Thursday 19th July at which point we will wish you a very happy Summer holiday.

As always, please keep up to date with all that is going on here on the website or via the Friday newsletter and if you have any questions about anything, please pop into the School Office to ask.
