Do Something Different Day
At St James Primary, we sometimes like to do something a little bit differently!
This term we spent our do something different day having fun and raising money for UNICEF through Soccer Aid. With the help of Daniel Mann in Year 2, we built a spectacular obstacle course and had a go at beating our best times. We spent the afternoons creating some fantastic art. Just have a look at the pictures below.
This term we have spent the day doing something different to celebrate Black History Month. We have been creating paintings inspired by people such as Faith Ringold who wrote Tar Beach and making our own African masks. We’ve been learning about inspiring figures in our history such as Rosa Parks and Jessie Owen. We’ve been creating artwork inspired by Alma Thomas and performing Martin Luther King’s ‘I have a dream’ speech. And we’ve been learning African songs and performing African dances. It has been a fantastic day of creativity, fun and learning.
